Youth Exchange" Life is Better All Together" in Adana, Turkiye

About Adana

Adana is a large city in southern Turkey. It is situated on the Seyhan River, 35 km inland from the Mediterranean Sea. The administrative seat of Adana province, which had a population of 2.274 million according to the official end-2022 estimates, the city itself had a population of 1,779,463 at that date making it the fifth most populous city in Turkey.

Traffic-locked boulevards, industrial suburbs, and modern shopping malls are exactly what you’d expect from one of Turkey’s largest cities—and Adana doesn't fall short. Amid the chaotic cityscape, there are scenic riverside parks, mosques, and traditional bazaars, where tiny restaurants serve the local specialty: Adana kebab.

About the Project

The youth exchange project "Life Is Better All Together" aims to bring young people together to understand and find solutions to the problems of immigrants/refugees and the reasons for their migration, to raise awareness in a friendly environment and to spread this awareness in society. In recent years, important issues related to immigration have emerged, especially after the start of the Syrian civil war and again after the Russian aggression against Ukraine. The number of refugees and immigrants has increased rapidly in recent years. While immigrants have difficulties adapting to the places where they live, locals also have various prejudices against immigrants. Our project aims to contribute to the integration of refugees and immigrants into the local society and to positively change the attitude of the local society towards immigrants.
