What's Erasmus+ Youth Exchange Projects?

Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges is an opportunity allowing groups of young people between 13 and 30 years old, from different countries to meet and live together for up to 21 days. The groups jointly carry out a work programme (a mix of workshops, exercises, debates, role-plays, simulations, outdoor activities) designed and prepared by the participants before the Exchange. 

Main Purpose:

Erasmus+ Youth exchanges help young people to upgrade their perception of the world, brush up their English speaking skills, overcome shyness in friendly environment, meet new people from different countries and develop competencies.

 

Topics:

Youth exchanges can be related to any topics including: democracy, environment, disability, anti-racism, cultural diversity, personal development, and many more.

 

Eligibility:

- you are aged between 13 - 30 years old.

- Have a good level in English.

 

Duration:

Erasmus+ Youth Exchange projects last between 5 and 21 days, the most common being approximately 9 days.

 

Destinations:

These mobility opportunities take place in European countries and partner countries, some of them include Ukraine, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Iceland, Serbia, among others. Our advise is for you to focus more on the topic of the project itself than the hosting country.

 

Costs:

The EU grant supports travel, accommodation, visa costs, as well as project materials as folllowing:-

- Travel expenses will be reimbursed by host organization after the project up to 180, 275, 360 EUR depends on the distance between your home twon to project venue.

- Accommodation, food, drinks are provided in advance by host organisation for free.

 

Certification:

Participants' learning experiences are recognised through a Youthpass. Which is type of Certificate given by the organizer where the skills are described that you gained during the exchange.

 

How to apply:

To participate in a youth exchange, you need to find an organisation that organises (hosting organisation) or sends (sending organisation) participants to the projects – they select participants in the exchange.

F.A.Q. Erasmus+ Projects

1. I am over 30. Can I take part as a team leader?

- Yes, Usually the team leader has no age limilt.

2. Are there vacancies for projects throughout the year?

- Yes, The associations and organisations are always announcing projects, but in summer there are usually more, but also more candidates.

3. Do I need insurance to take part in a Youth Exchange?

- If the project takes place in an EU country, you only need the European Health Insurance card, however if it takes place in another country where this card is not valid, we advise you to purchase an insurance. The insurance's price is your responsibility.

4. If I need a visa, Is this refundable?

- It depends on the projects and host organisations, in some projects is refunded by the organisation.

5. How many etra days can I stay in the hosting country?

- It depends on the National Agency of each country. In some cases you can stay 1 extra day and in others up to 7.

 6. Can the host organisation ask for an extra fee?

- Yes, Sometimes the host organisation ask for an extra amount tp cover costs, however this amount should never be an obstacle to your participation. This means that if you can't pay, you will not have to.
